An Innocent Man

Jesus Christ epitomized goodness while He walked this earth.   Everything He did and said was for the good of mankind.   He spoke out against the greed of the human ego in every sense of the word.   For this, he was rejected, feared, envied, and despised.   For this, He was targeted for hate. For this, the wisdom and justice of mankind dictated Jesus must be convicted, humiliated, and executed.   For this, He was betrayed by one He loved, betrayed with a kiss for thirty pieces of silver. For this, an angry crowd came upon this man of peace and love, armed with swords and clubs in the cover of darkness to arrest Him.

Responding out of fear, to the environment around them, the people that loved Jesus fled.   Jesus alone was caught up in the corruption of the system.   A system and its' people, intoxicated with greed and fear.   A system that passed the buck from one to the other, finally finding away to persuade and drop these sordid deeds down to the level of the people. Judas, never thinking his greed would lead to the spilling of innocent blood, tried to give back the money, but it was too late.   The people Judas plotted with couldn't care less about innocent blood, or Judas.

Jesus had been betrayed, abandoned, arrested, framed, a victim of false testimony, charged with treason and blasphemy, given a mockery of a trial, and found guilty.   Bound, blindfolded, mocked, beaten, spit upon, stripped, whipped, crowned with thorns, he carried and was nailed to a cross, given vinegar to drink and lanced.

Jesus hung between two thieves.   One thief, never recognizing his own faults, misplacing his anger, was still taunting Jesus along with some of the onlookers.   The second thief, Dismiss, not only recognized His own faults, but also recognized Jesus as an innocent man and a King.   This thief, simply asked Jesus to remember him and Jesus promised him paradise.

The Blessed Mother, the woman God Himself has chosen to give Christ to the world, cried at the foot of her son's cross.   The tears of pain only a mother could truly understand, seeing her son tortured and killed before her eyes. While at the foot of the same cross, the soldiers gambled away His clothes.   Jesus died on the cross.   He was taken down and handed to His Mother.   He was buried and on the third day rose from the dead.   Thus: conquered death for us.

Jesus and His Mother were totally innocent people.   They never did anything to hurt anyone.   All He ever did was good, and they tortured and killed Him.   Who better then Jesus Christ to represent all the injustice done on this earth?   Jesus Christ dealt with everything from beggars to kings.   He heard and saw it all while He was on earth.   Who better then Jesus Christ to witness every form of pain and abuse, from the mutilation of innocent minds with hatred and despair, to every drop of innocent blood spilled on this earth?   Who better then Jesus Christ Himself to testify about the wisdom and justice of mankind?

John 18:37   For this I was born, and why I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice.
John 15:25   They hated me with out cause.
John 15:20   If they have persecuted me they will persecute you also.
John 12:47   I have not come to judge the world ,but to save the world.
John 12:47   Love one another, as I have loved you.
John 17:27   Father, the world has not known you.
Cor.1.14:33   For God is a God of peace.
